Raising Da Vincis is holding a contest to celebrate and support the development of talented young artists.

The goal is to:

  • Share what our talented kids are doing.
  • Get parents talking about what they're doing to foster their child's talent.

Prizes

Winners in each age group will receive a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate.

There are 3 age groups:

  • under 3
  • 4-6
  • 7-11

Winners will be featured on the Raising Da Vinci's Web site.

How To Enter

The best way to enter is via the Raising Da Vincis group on Flickr.com. You can enter as many items there as you wish. Other entry methods are limited to one entry per child.

Option 1. Enter photos on Flickr.com (recommended)

  1. Register with Flickr.com This only takes a moment if you're already registered with Yahoo.com
  2. Go to the main page for the Raising Da Vincis Art Group and click where it says "Join this group?"
  3. Upload your photos to Flickr.com
  4. Viewing an individual photo, you can click the button to Send to Group.
  5. Send it to the Raising Da Vincis Art group you've just joined.
  6. Optionally discuss your child's entry with a link to the post in the entries forum
Option 2. Post directly on RaisingDaVincis.com

If you have already uploaded your child's work to a blog or photo site, and can access the image URL, you can simply post the URL to our forum, along with your child's name and age.

  1. Register with www.raisingdavincis.com
  2. Post your child's entry in the Art Contest Forum
Option 3. Email RaisingDaVincis.com

If you are reluctant to join Flickr, you can send a digital photo to contest@raisingdavincis.com, along with your child's name and age. We'll do our best to add it to the Flickr group.

Option 4. US Mail your child's artwork to RaisingDaVincis

If you are unable to take a digital photograph of your child's work you can also mail your child's work directly to us. If you'd like to have it returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Be sure to include your child's name and age. Send it to:

Rules

You can enter as many pictures (pieces of art) as you want.

Only a parent, legal guardian, or teacher may submit an entry on behalf of a child. No one under 18 years of age may submit any entry.

Pictures will be judged on merit by Raising Da Vincis staff, but be sure to talk about your child's experience on the Forums; background stories add interest.
